    Penn cycle: http://penncycle.com/articles/bike-rental-pg676.htm
    Gateway Cycle: http://gatewaycycle.com/

Might be two choices on the east side. Looks like Penn only rents mountain bikes from some other stores, but maybe if you contact ahead of time they can get a bike to the Woodbury store. Then again their Eagan store is close to some of the best trails in Minneapolis/St.Paul. 30 minutes?? from Woodbury.

http://www.morcmtb.org/ website has more info on trails. Also has a good forum to ask questions.

Best trail near Hudson would be Whitetail Ridge in River Falls. 15minutes south.

When are you in town? Lately we have had lots of rain and many mountian bike trails could be closed because of wet conditions.

OH yea! You guys get mud up there!! Im in AZ. We can get a torrent and the trails are dry within an hour or two to ride away!

I was looking to ride Sunday. Maybe I should grab a road bike and try your fab bike paths through MSP that I have been hearing about.

Thanks for the recommendations and mud warning!

If you get a road bike these guys have a bunch of group ride options around the MSP area. I did a few rides with them when I was up there at the beginning of the month. I had an awesome time and met some great people.

Penn Cycle in Woodbury rents mt bikes. From this location you will be close to Afton Alps.

If you got to drive out to Hudson or Woodbury, might as well drive to Cuyuna. About the same mileage in all the Twin Cities and (usually) only closed during rain itself.

Plus, its the best in the state, if not the mid-west.

It could be the best in the State, but its a long drive.

Woodbury is 20 minutes from the airport. Whitetail Ridge (Hudson/River Falls) is 20 minutes from Woodbury. I'm farily sure Brainard/Cuyuna is much further.
