    One word: FLOODS
There's a road on the other side of the river "Black Dog Road" that I use to take to connect 77 to 35. It was fun an twisty. The road was mostly made of asphalt patches as every time the river bottom flooded, the road would go to **** and they'd patch it. Eventually the closed it at the power plant due to not wanting to repair it anymore.
I see this paved trail doing the same thing, deteriorating from the flood and patched and eventually forgotten.
