    Mille Lacs WMA

Has anyone biked the Mille Lacs Wildlife Management Area? I hunted there a couple of years ago. It's a large area and it's full of trails. In the DNR map it has biking listed as one of the recommended activities. I remember thinking I should come back with the mountain bike, but never have. I have a new bike now so I have renewed interest in it.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I recently moved into the area, about 15 minutes south of there. Also have looked into riding there. I suppose your huntng brought you in there during the fall months. Summer might be a real bug fest to try it out. Let me know if you do go in there and what it is like. At this point with my schedule, I will wait until after Labor Day.

On a different note, the forest roads in the Rum River State Forest are a quiet place to ride away from traffic, and there are a few hiking trails to ride I have found just south of the bridge on road just south of 205th Ave in the eastern side.

Yes, it was in the dry, relatively bug free fall. When I thought of riding it in the summer deer flies and mosquitoes came to mind. It is in an area that has swamps. I should of checked it out this spring. I'll have to check out Rum River State Forest also.
