Like to have fun in the dark?

    Well how does this sound?
Riding at at CamRock under cover of darkness.
Setting up camp and spending all night under the lights of a bar, with the most valid excuse you will ever have - you are doing this to keep in shape right?
Pit stops at Checkpoint VBC for bacon, twinkies, and PBR handups.
Harley riders heckling/cheering you on from the balcony at Heathers.
Getting a Heather's Blue Cheese burger at 1a after a couple of hot laps.
Challenging your fellow mountain bike riders for fastest lap, slowest lap, most VBC checkpoint handups, goofiest outfit.
Watching the fog roll in the valley as the night settles in.
Riding the sweet trails at night: The silver dew is reflecting off your lights. The prairie plants are in full bloom. You follow the little dark ribbon of trail leading you through the jungle.
Basically having a great time riding your mountain bike on some sweet trails at night with a bunch of our fellow fun mountain bikers.
The team member who gets the sunrise lap is the luckiest one. It is truly great to watch the scenery go from blacks, to shades of gray, to purples, then the bright colors of sunrise.
This really is one of the funnest ways you can spend a night. And it is a truly unique experience on your bike.
So post up, email, or call me and join in on the the No Worries Mon Team for the most fun you can have on your bike this year. No racing experience needed. No lights needed - we will try to find some for you. We are open to anyone who wants to have some fun and has an adventurous spirit. You will need to know how to ride a bike. On dirt. Other than that you are qualified.

Got the start time but will they still be serving at 8:00 when we're done racing? BTW, I'll eat anything after 12 hours of riding!

Heather will be serving through 10a unless she runs out of food.

Last year for some reason I think it was the eggs were not up to normal par The rest I thought was great as usual.

BTW: Twinkie and bacon handups at Victor Bravo Charlie (checkpoint Charlie) should help with the hunger pains for you crazy solo 12 hour guys. The rest of us on 12 hour teams will enjoy the PBR handups

We can still use a fourth to fill the No Worries team if anyone wants to join in and see what the fun is all about. Or if you 12 hour guys want to stop the suffering and join the party

How do these trails hold up to the rain? Is this going to be another slopfest?

The official update is below....the trails at Cam-Rock handle water as well as anywhere around. You won't see the epic mud you did at Wausau.

Weather Update for Tonight's Pitch Black Singletrack Race:

Initial reports from last night's rain are that the Cam-Rock trail system is in good condition. Cam-Rock is also known to dry out quickly.

Your safety, trail stewardship, and bringing you a great event are our top priorities.

In the event of changing weather conditions today (scattered showers predicted, but clear for tonight), we will place updates on the following sites:

Twelve Hours of Pitch Black Singletrack

or on the Pitch Black Singletrack forum at:

    Capital Off Road Pathfinders
