Great Midwest Endurance festival mtn bike event cancelled

Does anybody know why this event was cancelled?

    http://www.allcommunityevents.com/gm...challenge.html

And more importantly, how do I get my money refunded?

    Pathetic Planning

Just a month ago the race director didn't even know what kind of trails we had a Greenbush. He was advertising the course as double track for plenty of passing, through meadows, and over bridges. When he was told that no such trails were open to biking in the State Forest and was informed that we have only singletrack trails open to biking his jaw dropped. I had planned on doing this race since it's in my back yard but the entry fees were twice as much as a WEMS race and I was skeptical as to how much organization there would be. Also I had contacted them about lending a hand with trail maintenence this spring since they were going to be holding a race and I got know comment.

I got this in my inbox today...

"We regret to inform you that due to unusually low participation we have had to
cancel the mountain bike events for the Festival.

Wisconsin is a great place to mountain bike and there are many options, some of
which we find ourselves overlapping with! We hope to resurrect this next year
or partner with an existing event.

We encourage you to check out the running, inline, and other road bike events
    planned for that weekend.

You will receive a refund via check in the mail.

    Keep riding!"
