    Fall Color Fest

The FCF is a week away. We went out and buffed up Richard's Revenge for all of you Fest Racers today.

Bethany and I 'll be out there volunteering, next Saturday, so stop and say Hi-Ohhh!

Is that one of the sharp turns on the first blue loop downhill out of the John Muir parking lot? I rode there today and there is a very nice banked turn. I hav'nt heard of any sections being called Richards revenge so I don't know if thats the spot. Anyway, great job on the banked turn

I was there on (kettle) Saturday while you guys were working... was riding a GIANT (too big for me) Bianchi, blue in color, single in speed.

3 other buddies were there. One with a un-missable red bike.

    Do you remember us? haha

I'll be there. Doing the 20 miler on my Blur... The goal is to finish without a mech. failure this year. Last time I rode FCF, I lost a bolt on my front brake about 16 miles in. Lets just say you really miss your front brake when you don't have it to use anymore.

    Fcf

I will be there, but not racing. Volunteering. I signed up for the whole day. I am going to be a course marshall. I am very excited, especially with the "open carry" law...makes marshalling so much more fun.

Answering a question with the same thing I was questioning...

Cool, so instead of carrying your gun inside in a holster (or gang banger style, front of pants pointing at the boys) you just let it chill so everyone can see it?

    Gnarly.

Depending on how much rain we get at the Southern Kettles will determine if the FCF gets canceled. The DNR hotline (262) 594-6202 and the website will have all the latest info http://www.fallcolorfestival.org/

Looking forward to a great event!

Yeah, apparently its legal to open carry in WI. However, the local constabulary can still book you for "disturbing the peace" or something like that...

Back to topic, how's the weather north of the Cheddar curtain right now? We've had drizzle and light rain for the last 2 hrs or so here in Chicagolalaland...

Really hoping things go as planned tomorrow.

Agreed. The mud made the first 5 or so miles a little rough, but by the second lap things had dried up a bit and it was pretty decent.

gomez, I saw you walking in the parking lot before any of the races started (at least I saw a guy wearing a "gomez" name tag)...

Hey everybody, I'm trying to put together a video from the FCF. I'd like to incorporate some helmet cam footage. If you have a helmet cam or know someone who does and took video during the race, I'd really like to use it. Please let me know.

I only saw one guy riding around with a helmet cam, and I think he did the 10 miler. I ran into him (not literally) at the demo truck when I tried out the Rumblefish. He was waiting on a Superfly 100 at the time... Had a blue shirt/jersey, but that's about all I remember of him.
