... and if we just ... Cuyuna = Big Fun/Great Destination (What are you waiting for?)

I have to admit we are pretty spoiled living in the Keweenaw (Michigan Tech, Churning Rapids, Swedetown and Copper Harbor) but itís always a fun adventure to explore other locations. We drove down to Cuyuna over the 4th of July weekend and had a blast riding for 3 days. Congrats to all that have been involved from the early planning stages, to the layout, to the construction, to the ongoing building and maintenance. You truly have a perfect mountain biking destination - well planned and designed flow trails (loved all the banked turns), great scenery, easy access and lakes to cool off in. It took the first ride to figure out the one-way trails since they are not signified on the map but once we did, it was fun linking them up.

If anyone is contemplating whether itís worth it, I can tell you that no doubt it is worth it. The bar has been raised for trail development in the Midwest. It was a 6 hour+ drive or so from the Keweenaw and we are already planning a return trip with friends. Now if the Minnesota government would only get the budget settled so we don't have to RV Camp at WalMart again...

Lovely trail indeed. I went up there the weekend of June 10th. Loved the banked turns and downhills. But the rolling trail got old after 3 miles. up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-turn-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-turn-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down.

was up this weekend. a few trees down that had to be climbed around. If you are going and have a foldable saw, bring it with ya.
