    dry.

In Hayward for work right now.

I've been riding the Hatchery Creek and Makwa singletrack and it's all dry. Very dry.

Did cover a stretch on the Birkie trail tonight. It would suck up a fair amount of water pretty quickly.

    Ride fast.

What is this trail like? Are there any big climbs or is it fast rolling jeep trails?

a lot of fast fire roads and rolling terrain. nothing very long with regards to climbs but believe me you'll be feeling them at the end.

Does anyone have a map that shows elevation change? I heard that there is one or two "bigger" climbs. Does anyone know what miles these climbs are at? Just trying to figure out race strategy.

    Thanks for any help!!

The Seeley fire tower hill is the big climb, it's about 30 miles into the race. The last 8 miles are pretty much up hill, nothing long but lots of short ones. I rode the short course today with my brother and it's dry and fast but areas of loose sand that can throw you down in a hurry. The good news, several rain showers tonight That should firm things up a bit for Saturday.

You ever get a map of the elevation changes? I'm looking for one too...not necessarily this year but something. Thanks

    Go to this link:

    http://www.racemyrace.com/race.php

Find the Cheq 40 course in the right hand menu. The elevation map runs at the top of the simulation.

Who even needs to race when they could just sit on their bike in front of this website?
