    Cheq 40 Tire Choice

Seems like this years Fat Tire 40 will be mainly dry but sounds like birkie trail is a bit eroded and there is some loose gravel on fire roads. I was planning on running my less aggressively treaded Stan No Tube Ravens, but I'm wondering of I should stay with a knobbier tire given the current trail conditions.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm running Bonty Team Issue 29.1's, the tread pattern is very fast and it's a light tire with small blocky tread. I don't see the need for anything more for that course even if it is muddy or or loose.
Piles of loose pea gravel will be no big deal no matter what the tire imho, just don't try to pass through a 3" thick pile of it

I'm running small block 8s this year. I had them with me last year but chickened out due to the wet course and went with my regular cheap Mythos tires. I'm running 'em no matter what.
