Blue Mound State Park Conditions WI

Anyone been to Blue Mounds within the last week? I was up north this weekend and the trees had lost most of their leaves already (and a little snow). Thanks

All the leaves are down at Blue Mound...this past Saturday and Sunday, trail crews blew the leaves off the trail, so the conditions should be awesome right now.

did they pick up the rocks too?
Authorities speculate that speed may have been a factor. They are also holding gravity and inertia for questioning.

    The Official Response

We received complaints from a member of the public last June about the removal of a rock that "totally changed the character of the trail".

In response we point out that nothing lasts forever, but we do our best to keep the trail in it's original condition. A substantial portion of our maintenance budget goes to replacing worn out rocks, and we will do our utmost to be sure that your favorites will be there for your next ride.

Ahem. On the issue of trail conditons, the last leg of the main loop (near the campground) is still wet and we have not yet cleared it of leaves. There is a ~1/2 mile section in Pleasure Valley that is still leaf covered-we ran out of blower gas really far from our supply. There are at least 5 trees down that need to be removed from the trail. Otherwise all is well
