... and if we just ... IMBA in the Midwest

IMBA's In Indianapolis, IN

IMBA Urban Hot Spots and Subaru Trail Care Crew Coming to Indianapolis

Forward from IMBA Email Part II

The Hoosier Mountain Bike Association and the International Mountain Biking Association are pleased to announce that Indianapolis has been selected as an IMBA Urban Hot Spot for 2004. From September 7-13 Indianapolis will become the center of efforts to gain mountain bikers more access in Indianapolis and surrounding communities. You are invited to join us!

IMBA Urban Hot Spots is a mountain biker driven program dedicated to improving trail opportunities in urban areas. Urban trail access is one of the most difficult challenges mountain bikers and other trail users face. As cities continue to expand and open space dwindles, it's becoming more and more difficult to find convenient places to enjoy the outdoors. The IMBA Urban Hot Spots program focuses on improving urban trail access. Indianapolis was chosen due to its large size and lack of mountain bike trail access.

IMBA leads multi-day Urban Hot Spot campaigns in only a select handful of cities each year, working with local clubs and land managers, building trails and tackling tough advocacy issues. The 2004 IMBA Urban Hot Spots cities are Indianapolis and Ottawa. Cities from previous years are Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Sacramento, Seattle, San Francisco, New York and Cleveland. Each IMBA Urban Hot Spots campaign includes events designed to get people psyched about mountain biking, including fun group rides, trail-building education, and other social events. One of the highlights of the Indianapolis Hot Spot visit will be the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12.

Schedule of Events for the IMBA Indianapolis Urban Hot Spot

Please add these events to your calendar and join us! The focus of all of these events will be to have fun and support mountain biking in the Indianapolis area. We hope to see you at one or more of these events.
