    Wicked ride of the East.

Wicked ride of the East is this Sunday @ Harold Parker SF, Andover MA. Marked trails for all abilities. Always a good time. I'll be the one slinging chili. And serving it for free. Don't be late.

    What time is "late"?

I live 15 minutes from there and have never been to the Wicked ride. I'll be the slow guy bringing the noob to make himself look better.

Ride is from 9-3, gates close @ 5. Usually chili runs out by 3 or so. Never been? You must pedal there, yes? My late was only in reference to chili. Better to start at 9 or 9:30, less people on the trails, more time to ride the 22 miles.

I have a good parking spot away from the crowds and some trails I can take through the woods so I'm not slabbing it to the Jenkins lot. I cage it from home to the trail head though. Living in Wilmington finally has it's perks!

I haven't been to or heard of Burl Rez, but have been to LLF, and even that was a while ago. I mostly ride solo and with HP an easy adjustment to my ride home I usually end up there, but not at the Jenkins lot end.

I heard there has been some trail work at Ward Reservation (further up 125) that has me curious.

Lots of good work( your welcome) there. Know how to connect the 2 by skug river and across that boardwalk? And check out he front side of Boston Hill, the old ski hill that faces rt 114. Awesome swoopy and banked with board walks over the drainage. You live in Wilmington( as I do) and you don't ride the rez? ( Burlington Mill Pond. Talk me up at the wicked ride, I'll be slinging chili.

Unless I'm thinking of something else, the Skug boardwalk is how I get from my end of HP to Jenkins. Maybe not.

I used to ski Boston Hill when that was a thing. Since then I took the kids to Ward to hike and drooled over the trails on the back side.

A fellow Wilmington taxpayer? If you hate the new light at the top of Glen Rd as much as I do, we'll get along just fine. I'm Nick and will stop by the chili spot and say hello.

To get to Ward there are a few small properties. One is the Marry French with a boardwalk once you hit pavement past the Skug River parking lot. Then out by Corinthian Way to Hammond res.

hopefully it is dry this year. last year it was pouring rain on my drive up from Plymouth and the trails were exceptionally wet which made it pretty difficult on the advanced loop.

I'm curious how you hook the Res and LLF together. I lived on a street adjacent to a Res trail entrance for 40 years and ride both regularly. I even do Saw Mill Brook occasionally.

Well hook is a relative term. Res to power lines to rt 62, 3 or so miles of pavement to LLF as rt 62 goes under rt 3 . More interested to take the power lines all the way to Shawsheen tech to Warren Manning SF to the new stuff @ Gibson Hill to Russell Mill. Ridden LLF to Great Brook? Lots of exploring with a few short connections of pave.

LLF to Great Brook should be interesting. I've ridden the power lines from Rahannis Park to Billerica. Can get swampy in areas. Now that I'm retired and live on the Cape all summer, I'm discovering miles of off road trails. Fat bikes rule on CC. Save some chili for me.

Amazed how many people were there. Everyone in good spirits, saw some great costumes. The guy dressed up like Trump with the hair piece on his helmet had me going

1st time riding HP and now I know why people like it. Its those small victories when you clear a difficult section, makes you work harder.

Cute how the big loop got techier the farther you got into it - I was barely hanging in there for the last couple sections. 23 miles of beers, ********ting and beat-downs! Awesome event - thanks for putting it on again!

600 plus riders? I got about 1.5 hours of pedaling in the am. Little bit of slickery roots, not bad though.

Was that the count? 600 is a healthy number, but despite that, traffic really wasn't bad. I didn't see many riders until I crossed Jenkins, and at that point the tech dial wicked up and there were plenty of people hike-a-biking over the slick and muddy rock obstacles. Despite having to bail in front of observers, everyone was friendly and in good spirits. HP didn't fail to humble a lot of people.

If you can ride HP with confidence you can ride anywhere (in New England).

That was great you hollering 'Make MTB'ing great again' before slugging down the mud shoot.

    Great time.

That last 3 miles was a kick in the nuts. At least the rocks started getting dry at that point. 'Are you exhausted from 20 miles of unrelenting tech? just punch up that 6 foot whale back that spits you into a graveyard of eroded ledge.'

Hillary finished the ride early because someone gave her a heads up on all the tech sections.

Thanks to all who set this up - was amazed how many riders were there. Made the mistake of doing the second half of the ride first, so the rocks were still super wet. The "superhero loop" was like a slip and slide. Still, had a blast!
