When has it not rained or been wet for Wicked Ride? I feel like that's part of the yearly tradition.

I pre-rode HP on Saturday and the trails that were not blown off were matted with a dense oak leaf cover making run ups and offs of obstacles treacherous as you couldn't see what was going on. By the time we started pedaling today at 9:45 the leaves were crushed and were hardly an issue at all. What a great surprise as was the dry weather. This was the first dry WRE in how long?

Festival ground zero was as fun as always, and maybe more so with the addition of a band.

NEMBA knocked this one out of the park. Thanks team!!!

^^^^Thanks. Cooked 50 lbs of penne and had 32? gallon zip lock bags of bolognese. Anthony from the cycle loft cooked 100 lbs of chicken. The crew selling pulled pork for cure( Dana Farber) sold out. 866 registered riders, WHOOOT!. More funds raised for more trail work.

My first WRE. I love riding HP but usually can only muster about a 10-12 mile ride of their techier trails. It just gets exhausting. The intermediate trail being 20 miles and hitting most of their gnarlier trails had me disappointed in my condition. I followed the Orange and cut a huge section that goes up to lock and load and skips one of the harder trails on pond side. I ended up doing just 12.5 miles but wasn't nearly gassed. I would not wanted to have hit the last red section and the section following that leads back to the Jenkins lot (which I am very familiar with and have no idea what the names are) at the end of a 20 mile run. I would have killed myself. It was cool to roll through the west-of-Jenkins Rd stuff. I head over to West side on a rare occasion and fumble around. It is confusing over there.

The leaves got me a lot on the techy climbs.

My regular jam is the west side and I rarely cross Jenkins since I mostly ride solo after work. WRE is like Halloween - a chance to get out and do scary stuff with the neighbors.
