The rainy weather that's forecasted seems to be coming thru Saturday night and Sunday is shaping up to be sunny in the afternoon with temps near 60. We arrowed the route today and the trails are bone dry so some moisture shouldn't affect the trails to much.

    Great Weather...Great Riding
Well the weather was great for Sundays Wicked Ride of the East. I brought a new mountain biker, a high school friend that I haven't seen in 10 years, to the event and we both had an excellent time. We both had some falls but nothing too serious. Overall the trails were in top notch shape, thanks go out the people that maintain them. The chili was awesome as were the bratwurst. There were a lot of smiling faces out on the trail. One thing that my friend Peter couldn't get over was the helpful people that would stop or ask if everything was ok if we stopped to catch our breaths. It is a great community to be involved in. Harold Parker is a beautiful area to ride and the weather just added to it. Again thanks to everyone involved.

    Thanks for Attending!!!!
Thanks to all the attendees at the 9th Annual "Wicked Ride of the East" at Harold Parker SF. The conditions were a bit challenging after receiving nearly an inch of rain the night before but luckily the singletrack trails at HP dry fairly quickly. Despite the stormy conditions the night before and even morning of the event, we had a great turnout of nearly300 riders.

Many thanks to the generousity of the Cycle Loft and Anthony & his crew for cooking up over 200 hot dogs and sausages, as well as, some side items. And, thanks for providing technical assistence for any biker in need.

Thanks to all of our other sponsors:Team Vitamin Water's Alexis, Karen and Kate for running a women's maintenance and riding clinic followed by a lead ride. Boston Luna CHIX Roz, Ann, and Reenie for leading an intermediate women's ride. Sinister bikes for showing what a local bike company can build and giving a bunch of t-shirts away. New England Bicycle for providing Kona bikes to demo, And, Essex County Greenbelt for supporting biking at their properties and providing maps of local protected land.

And Finally, Thanks to the NEMBA crew who works so hard every year at this time to make this event happen. Philip Keyes for taking care of registration and all the other behind the scenes details. Dan Streeter for taking care of most of the details and trail arrowing with Frank Lane, Joe Dizzazo and Kirk Goldsworthy. Lee Holenbeck for making mass amounts of amazing chili. And, the rest of the NSNEMBA crew Scott Merloni, Dave McCrimmon, Bob Ganley and his daughter Julia, Fred White, Cindy Hickey and Eric Gallant.

We're already in motion with some nice improvements for the 10th annual ride.

    See you next year,

    Steve Charrette
