    Trails New Bedford area?

    Iím going to be in Fairhaven for a few days and Iím looking for suggestions for someplace new to ride. Iíve ridden;
    Mahoneyís
    Wompatuck
    Freetown SF
    Duxbury
    Myles Standish
    Hale
    Massasoit
    TOT
Iíd love to find someplace closer to where Iíll be staying. I'd also like to skip cape traffic this week. Maybe Borderland? Is that in Easton?
Does anybody know what condition Mahoneyís is in these days?

Never ridden Mahoneys, is that in Marion/mattapoisett?

Borderland is in Easton, probably about 45 min from New Beige. Borderland is well mapped and consists of easy dirt road or nasty rocky techy singletrack, don't expect much in-between.

I've been riding the southern part of freetown a lot lately. There's no decent map though and the trails are confusing.

Pine Hills is pretty cool, its in Plymouth and although kind of small its got some nice stuff and its worth a ride. Here's a link to bikerags page on it.

There is also Weetamoo woods in Tiverton. About 30 min from NB, but well signed and pretty fun.

Or Destruction Brook. This place is very easy, but if you're looking for a quick, easy, scenic, quiet ride near NB this works. You can also ride the slocum river reserve, which is only a few miles of road from destruction brook brook. There is a way to sneak through a farm and ride mostly trail, but I'd have to show you and risk angry farmers.

Another option, which I usually lump in with freetown is ridge hill in North Dartmouth. Only a few miles of trails here, but if you get creative you can ride over to Copicut Woods and all of the southern half of freetown.

Thats all I got, good luck.

Well apparently I don't know how to link to bikerags trail pages. You'll have to enter the massachusetts page and look for pine hill east yourself. Weetamoo is in RI. sorry.

Thanks a lot for the info! I got here a bit late so I missed the first day. They went to Vietnam, the pic is from that day. Yesterday we hit Foxboro and we hope to hit Borderland and maybe some other stuff before we leave. Mahoneys is in Mattapoisett next to the industrial park.

    Ouch.

If you like vietnam and foxboro then you'll like Borderland. I would also recommend Pine Hills out of the the stuff I posted, it has more trail features and cross stuntry stuff.
