Thunder Mountain Friday/ Saturday Afternoon Ticket-Best Deal in Bike Parlk Riding!

Ok, Full disclosure: I am a bike patroller at T-Mountain Bike Park at Berkshire East ski area in Charlemont, but I don't get any perks for plugging or marketing this exciting new ride opportunity in our region.

But, I do want to make a case for this best value in DH bike riding in the region, and that is the afternoon ticket on Fridays and Saturdays. You might not know this, but Thunder Mountain has extended hours during the Summer on Friday/ Saturday-it keeps the lift spinning until 7pm (!!), that means, if you buy the afternoon ticket, that's 6 hours of uncrowded, Gravity Logic built trail ripping for $29.00! 19 bucks for juniors. And the trails don't close at 7, the lift loads it's last paying customer at 7!

Keep in mind Killington's half day pass is 34 bucks and it only covers 3.5 hours (heck, their full day is only 6.5-7 hours). So, if you are looking for the best six hours of DH/Enduro style trails at the best price (and want a good beer and some wings afterwards), check out the summer time Friday/ Saturday afternoon ticket at Thunder Mountain (Berkshire East) in Charlemont, MA. I'm shocked more folks aren't jumping on this already....

Sweet - welcome to the dark side man!

I'll be on a funky steel thing and my kid will be riding a Mojo.
Should be bother bringing the DJ/BMX bikes, or is it pretty much all MTB terrain (so far)?

My bank account will not tolerate a downhill bike especially because I "need" a fat bike for winter but geez, the park looks awesome! Saw a couple of Tyler's vids & they're great. The upside is that with the season I'm having, I'm pretty sure you'd be scraping me up off the trail at some point.

Red, I might have a rig you'd fit. We're starting to get good at scraping folks off the dirt...

And it doesn't happen as much as you'd think…we scrape far more folks off the snow

The new DH stuff does look amazing. I haven't even made it to Charlemont for the XC stuff, let alone the DH riding.

Thanks for the offer H, I really appreciate it. I just finished building Jacob his first 26" ride. I think after he gets comfortable on that, we may come up for an afternoon & do a lift, lesson & rental thing together.

All expectations wildly exceeded. Awesome trails and hospitality, good vibe, good amenitities. Rode with my dad and son Friday (71 and 11 y/o respectively) and we all loved the place.

H and L - THANKS! And it was great to see you guys and Micky too. You've got something really good going on out there.

I have to throw out a personal thanks to Luke for playing ambassador/guide/coach to both my dad on his first DH ride down the Sugar run and also taking my son for a good fast run on the jump trail (I can't keep up to the kid) and in general just being a great host, and also to Micky for enthusing my dad to get on the lift and give it a try in the first place.

Stoke pervades the place. We'll be back soon.

Son getting some pointers during a lightning break...
