    Snow report - trail conditions?

Looks like the last storm got every park in MA and RI. Anybody went riding over Turkey brake?
Drove by Lynn, HP, Willowdale, Fells - all covered with 2-3 inches. Not really rideable. Even my friend on fat bike said it was no fun in Fells . Slipping an sliding with snow coating the tires

What about south shore? looks like Foxborough got some snow, same with Lincoln woods and even Otis

Actually the conditions in Willowdale were damn near perfect today, the snow isn't deep, easily rideable, lot of riders were out there. Fat & 'normal', not much slipping
'll be doing HP/ Ward trails tomorrow, expect conditions to be the same.

Temps on the North Shore approached 60 today. Snow is likely gone. I rode Salem Woods late in the afternoon and didn't see any snow. Saw lots of mud though.

Not sure who told you Otis has snow....

I left Falmouth Friday afternoon and there wasn't a flake around. Friends rode Sunday and had a blast with the high temps. I was home in the Berks getting my XC ski on.

    Snow report - trail conditions?

Conditions are perfect along the Southcoast. Rode Swansea today on hero dirt, hard packed but still damp enough to be tacky. Good fun. Just got leaf blown to boot.

Anyone know what's it's like at nam?

This snowfall map is usually pretty accurate, but it doesn't tell you where to stay off trails b/c of thawing trail surfaces/muddy trails...that you have to use best judgment.

Foxboro trails were damn near perfect on Sunday morning, only a few over by the Conservation Area had remaining .5-1" snow/slush. I'd say by noon things were probably getting sloppy. Since yesterday was mild, my guess is the trails are totally clear of snow now.

My experience with Foxboro is the trails drain pretty good as long as the ground is not frozen. Luckily, for the most part the ground is not totally frozen yet, so trail riding should be good.

Going forward this winter, if El Niņo emerges this year (mild winter) it is likely to be weak, but this will be something to watch, as once the ground freezes then thaws only to re-freeze again, is when to stay off the trails. Riding on thawing mud & leaving deep tire track ruts that will re-freeze will make for long lasting trail damage.

Hunters were out today in Vietnam. I wore bright orange and rang my bell a lot.
Trails were mostly good. The swamp zone has flooded out so I had to hike across it.
No snow left, pretty firm. Also lots of trails leafblown.

Too bad it's supposed to rain tomorrow or I'd head back.

I bought a hunter orange shirt from Cabela's that has pretty good wicking properties just for this time of year. Works great, and you can see me from a mile away.
