Sealant Refresh - How often in MA?

I'm new to tubeless. I see the FAQ on Stan's No Tubes website says 2-6 months for a sealant refresh.

How often do people here in MA typical refresh their tires/rims? We live in a fairly humid environment so I'm guessing it doesn't need to be done every 2 months...

1x year I'd guess for me or when it doesn't seem to hold air as well.

I do it when I replace the tires. Otherwise, I leave it alone. Tires last me a year or so. Its important to clean the rims and bead so you get a nice seal. I've used Stans, Trek house brand and Orange seal. All three still seemed to have some liquid left at the tire change.

OK, so far so good. I like these low maintenance answers!

When I first got my new bike with tubeless, I had a co-worker tell me you had to refresh the sealant every 6 weeks.

I base it on what the tire is telling me...it's a slow process as sealant dries up. Over time you will notice a more frequent need to top off your tire pressure. That's a sign that the sealant may need to be replenished. I've done it twice on my new Kona since I started riding it in Jan and both times the increased loss of air pressure stopped. All I did was add a couple of oz and keep riding. I ride 3X/week.

I second what Sturge said keep you eyes on your tire pressure and maybe make a chart of when you last did the sealant as it's easy to forget. I usually refresh every 3.5 - 4 months

Have had good luck with Bontrager TLR Sealant, Stan's and Orange Seal Sub Zero

With removable valve cores and something like the KOM Sealant injector topping up sealant is like a 2 minute process

    Thanks for the feedback everyone!

NewKing, i found this video and yes it looks very easy:

I picked up a valve core tool today. Not that I need to do sealant yet, but I've had the valve core on both tires come undone, just taking the valve cap off. Clearly not tight enough...

Yes that video does it justice as it was under 2 minutes.

I like the KOM injector because you can suck the sealant out of the bottle and it easily fits in the valve never any spilling or clean up. You will save a bunch of money if you buy a big bottle of sealant over the little one's like in the video.

a 2oz bottle is like $3 to do one tire and a big bottle is like $17

    Cheers...
