    PV Nemba Facebook

I don't participate in social media, but occasionally check the PV Nemba facebook page for general happenings outside of my privately curated riding circle. Now I see that you must sign into facebook to view the page - wasn't like that before. What's the deal? Goddamn 'puter phones and social media! Rant over.

I've seen this with some of my local (Connecticut) Nemba chapters as well. I think it's a little obnoxious to make those pages private, when that seems to be the medium that has been chosen to spread the word.

I don't disagree with you Liam. But folks should also know better than to discuss anything remotely controversial or incriminating on social media......which is another topic all together I suppose.

Anyway, I'm just bitching because no one second-guesses the use of social media. I for one, am not willing to "sign-up" just to be able to observe the conversation. I'm out and that works for me.

Thatís pretty much where Iím at. It just kinda blows that there doesnít even seem to be a NEMBA forum any longer.

If it is indeed a ploy to keep the DCR from snooping around, than that is just childish. Isnít NEMBA supposed to partner with land managers and not try to work incognito behind their backs?

As was said before if a conversation is that important, than social media isnít the platform for said conversation.

I have seen other groups require joining due to the increase in spam from online retailers and bots. Requiring people to join saves the constant deleting of posts trying to sell you crap.

    Eh, That kinda makes sense...

Granted Iím what should be considered special needs when it comes to the interwebs. I assume that one would need be a Facebook member to post to begin with.

At the end Of the day I find it slightly annoying, but yet my life goes on....
