    No good Microburst trail damage

First time on here. I live in Easthampton, and do a lot of rides through Boruchowski parcel. Just went out to do a nice 6 mile loop with a friend today, and made it exactly .25 mile in. The trail has MAJOR wind damage. Huge trees uprooted and knocked over into the trail. If anyone has seen the Youtube footage of mountain road through Mt. Tom. This spot is in the woods to the right of the road piuctured.

Anyways, I'm completely bummed now that my weekday spot is ruined, and I came here to see if there was any cleanup planned. I know there's not a lot of people riding there, as I've seen exactly 2 people there in about 30 rides, but there is some really great singletrack in there.

If there is cleanup planned, or if anyone wants to plan something, I'd love to help. I don't have a chainsaw but I know how to use one, and might even be able to get one.

build re-routes around the big trees, good excuse to add mileage, and clear back the smaller stuff with long handle loppers and folding saws.

don't wait for others to help. get out there!

i built about 10 miles of trail near me in the last year. lots of woods=lots of trail!

Its really bad man, it looks like tornado damage. I'm hoping it's just the northern part of the trails and the rest are pretty much intact. When I went in yesterday it was completely impassable, it dropped a whole section of big trees, and you could clearly see sky and the rest of Mt Tom. That section is pretty narrow next to a road and private property so workarounds could be hard though.

So where is this 10 miles of trail? haha

No clue who any of those people are. I did run into a guy in there once on a green fat bike that claimed to have built the trails, but I don't have any contact info for him.

Ill bring a serious chainsaw and hopefully my brother up there in the next couple of weeks and try to cut a new path up to the bridge . a lot of the downed stuff is very manageable to cut through or easily ridden around or over.

Sounds like you ran into Rich. Yes, you need to hook up with Rich L., Pete O. and George W.

I went in there this morning to assess the damage, and it's completely destroyed. It would take months to restore the original trail. It would be easier to build a new access point. I didn't really get the full scope of the damage until I went up to where the bridge used to be.
