    Hardwick Group Rides?

I was driving my lil ones to T-Ball last night and noticed a bunch of riders loading up in the center of Hardwick last night. Just posting to see if anyone on here knows about groups rides in the area on Thursdays?

I've got some knowledge of local places to ride, but would love to share the opportunity to ride with some locals on a regular basis.

Got to explore some of the local Hardwick trails today during the Hardwick Fair this am... had to bail about 1/2 way through due to a commitment for my daughter, but the trails I rode were fantastic. The ride also made me aware how out of shape I am!

Where are the trails in Hardwick? Any chance for a tour?

Trails are all within a few miles of the center. Can actually park on the common & ride out. The East Quabbin Land Trust properties possess the majority of trails. Some of the trails do extend on to private property. Land owners just request that you respect the land and wildlife from what I've been told.

I might not be the best guide, but I could definitely show you around.

Good to know, thanks. Looks like Patrill Hollow Trails in Hardwick are open for bikes. Is this where you were riding?

Some of the trails are on the Patrill Hollow preserve. I believe Mandell Hill has some of the trails as well. The others in the loop are cut through private land.

Do you ride downhill as well? There's also a about a mile long trail in the area. Need to hike a bike up most of it, but can be a fun ride down hitting all the features.

Sure, but I prefer to mostly keep the wheels on the ground. I've lost my nerve over the years due to injury and responsibility... Any free time? Sunday morning may be possible for me.

I missed your message... actually rode today. Sunday is a no go as I have a baptism for my nephew. Maybe next week.

I've been riding the dh trail lately. The leaves have entirely changed my comfort level @ speed. Also, I've seen a few bow hunters out on the Hardwick trails in the past week. Can't believe it's hunting season already.

Just throwing out that the Hardwick Fair race starts at 9am sharp this Saturday. It's free, and as competitive as you want it to be. I typically creep up the climbs to save my energy for the downs, but if you're up for challenge, there's typically some quick xc guys and gals! Roughly a 7.5 mile course that two great locals have carved out!!!

Hardwick Fair race on Saturday if anyone is interested. It's not really a competitive event if that is holding anyone back... more of a fun group ride with some class people!

Fair Race is Saturday if anyone is looking for something to do. Starts at 9. Some new sections cut for this year.

There's talk of expanding some more as well. We're lucky to have EQLT as a an advocate and supporter of the efforts.

I think we had about 17 competitors/riders this year. Not bad considering the weather and many regulars who couldn't make it.
