    Friday Nights in Charlemont

4:00 Trail Work - Raking, Grubbing, Benching, Rock Work - Pick your poison
6:30 Riding - Zoar, Warfield and/or Berkshire East - depending on the mood of the crowd
Post Ride - Beers and Food at the Warfield House - Is there anything better than parking in the lot of a great pub for a ride?

We'll be working on this schedule until the ground freezes.

Let me know if you are coming

The rains are starting here, and the doppler looks like heavy is on the way. Friends in CT say it's really nasty. Which is to say, I'm bailing on the Work/Ride/etc for this week. Till next week.

We're on for this week. Meet at the Warfield House at 4:00. Here is a quick topo indicating the project status... We'll be working on that trail without a connection at the far north of the map.

So you are starting to expand onto the Warfield property at last.

You know, H-you've done tremendous work up there (and still found time to help keep all the other riding areas in the Valley well-spruced and clear of hurricane debris). And I think it's great and generous and farsighted that Bruce at Zoar and the Warfield House folks are so behind the creation of mountain biking trails on their private land and that they are encouraging the promotion of these trails. I think, along with Schaefer's growing network over on Berkshire East, that this will eventually grow into a real destination worthy ride area.

These Friday work, ride and drink parties are a great idea.

I did not realize you were the only one building and maintaining trails. Just because certain people don't go to so called organized trails days does not mean it is not done, so i guess i will have post some on my website, FOR ANYONE not just a select cult.

    Dave,

You know, there was a time I thought you might be an alright guy, but now it is clear you are a trouble-seeking weirdo creep.

What the hell are you starting a fight about?? Harold has been working with several large land owners in Charlemont (with an endless invitation to ALL who want to help) to create a large, publicly accessible mountain biking (mountain biking specific) destination.

It's part of an enlightened effort by the recreational and business communities of greater Charlemont to utilize the fantastic resource of Epic terrain to expand on the vitality of the region. Harold has posted a map to let people--all interested people from anywhere in any group--know how the project is advancing. And he has publicly invited ALL INTERESTED PEOPLE to come help out, ride what's been built and enjoy a few beers and food afterwards.

Only an ignorant, self-absorbed, late-middle aged miscreant could take umbrage at this and try to start a fight (from out of nowhere) over it. Get a life...and don't tell me you have one because I know damn well that you don't.

Best of luck to you and your 'Posse'
    Liam

Rad, dude! Do you guys build sketchy jumps, drink Budweiser, and leave the cans in the woods? Can I come? I've been looking for a new posse. The guys I ride with are way too nice. I'm more the fck you, waving my dick in the wind and making lewd gestures at moms with kids kind of guy, so I think I'll fit right in with your posse. Maybe we can make some posse t-shirts, so all the suckas like Liam and Harold know we're representin' and stop trying to front on us. Those dudes are clowns.

What's your issue? There's no fight to pick here and you just show up out of no where with some ignorant post about nothing at all. Please go away! Besides, I'm a way better rider than you and am always the best rider on the mountain

Bye week this week. Everyone is away/busy for the long weekend. Next week for sure, I'll have the trail hard-raked all the way to the top by then. A little benching and polishing on Friday night will be in store, same for Wednesday morning if anyone is free.

Pouring like a son of a gun. I'm taking another night off, I did get the new trail blown clear of leaves so we won't lose it. Should ride pretty nice tomorrow and Sunday.

Good Weather promised for this week. We'll probably finish up the Warfield Summit Trail Bruce and I worked on Wednesday morning.

Work a couple hours, ride a couple hours, drink a couple hours. Does life get any better for mountain bikers?

    Who's in this week?

    H

This will probably be the final Friday night work session, time change next week would get us into the woods at dark. Last call!
I'm thinking we'll be flagging some stuff for the Nov. 5th Trail Fest. Maybe do some leaf removal so we don't lose new sections that haven't been ridden in.

Pretty sure it'll be nasty in the woods still at 4:00 today. Cancelling tonight's session.

See you all on the 5th.
