    CTS Whole Enchilada 2014

Thanks to our landowners, NEMBA, EFTA and all our volunteers, CTS is presenting our 3rd Annual Charlemont Trails Whole Enchilada, a fund raiser to benefit our trails.

September 21st. Rides at 9 and 11, continuing until about 3:00. The long ride includes a loop out to Dubuque in Hawley, the short ride stays in the system the whole time.

Party to follow at Berkshire East.

Lots of climbing, lots of downhill, plenty of tech thrown in to keep you honest.

Trail maps at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...eb-Version.gif and https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...eb-Version.gif

    Pre-Register at

    See you all there.

    Hi Harold,

It looks like those map links are dead. My browser returns an "SSL error" message when I try to follow them. I am on a vpn right now so that might be the problem, but you might want to recheck the links.

Other than that... This looks awesome! I plan on being there. I rode the CTS earlier this year for the first time but did it all wrong. I'm excited to get a good tour.

Looking Forward to it. This is always a great event. I'm down for the jalapeno ride, but anyone of you strong and long riders ought to come and test your mettle (looking at you newmarketrog) on the Habanero Ride...I assume Matty G is leading this?

Will the home base be at Berkshire east instead of the Warfield house this Year?? Maybe we'll get a chance to ride the new mountain coaster!

H, if you need help setting this up give me a shout.

South side arrows mostly up. Love to have some folks out this weekend to ride in the few short sections of newly created connections from the upper end of Silver Doe to MST and the lower end of Estranged Moose to Farmstead.

Great sharing our dirt with everyone. Come on back soon, the foliage gets better the next few weeks.

We'll leave the arrows in place until season ends, though some may fade...

I'll post the queue sheet on cts's Facebook page.

Last minute scrambling here. Weather for Charlemont looks better tomorrow than originally forecasted. Trails in good shape? Doesn't look like it will be too cold. Trying to get one last trip in somewhere before winter. VT got scratched last weekend, have been wanting to hit CTS up. Worth the 3 hour drive/sleep in the car/GF mad I missed Halloween to ride 4ish hours tomorrow morning before rain?

Looks like Harold did some cleanup recently:

But that's on the North Side. In my opinion, South side is a bit more fun.

Worth all that for 4 hours? I dunno, man. CTS kicks ass, but it sounds like a ton of work for not a lot of riding. I'd be saying that for ANY trail system. But maybe you'll get lucky and it won't rain at all:

Where are you coming from? Maybe a closer PV Place could do the trick as well. FWIW, I know Harold took a blower to the Berkshire East side of the trail system a week or so ago AND that a few of the new Gravity Logic trails flow DH trails are rideable on the B'East side so that should be good (plus Billy's World should also be great).

The Warfield and Zoar trails were pretty dang leafy last week, still a good ride, but wet and leafy (these trails aren't 'easy' imperfect conditions) just the same. If you don't know the trails, Navigation through leaf cover can be a little daunting. I will say, that these trails stand up to wet conditions as well if not better than most of the trails in the region, it's supposed to be dry through the night so if you get out early enough, you should be fine.

I'd say go for it, it's a great place to ride in any conditions, so long as you get what these trails are all about, I love them, but no matter how you slice it, they're hard trails (though, a lot of quality trail work has happened over the last few years to smooth out the rough edges of this system without dumbing down the ride experience…and that's a good thing).

Wendell is riding real well right now…also leafy as hell (and less traveled then the CtS).

Thanks for the quick updates. I went with Option B, take the boat to see the girl. I really want to get out to CTS and Wendell. There are a lot of places on the list in New England. But, we are trying to make a change and head west. So rainy Saturdays are spent trying to make some moves.

All the South side trails are pretty leaf free from when I cleared them last weekend. Started clearing the North side this morning - Game, Sweet16 and the upper half of RedZone are clear.

Thank you for all of your hard work, sir. I'm hoping to make it out there this weekend, but we'll see if my buddy is up for the ride from Boston. Everything out this way looks like it's going to get absolutely soaked.
