    Charlemont Trails Full Tour

Bruce is planning on leading a ride Sunday covering 100% of the single track in Charlemont. Meet at the Warfield House at 9:00 - plan to be out until about 2:00.

The route we're thinking would go over to Riddell rd then down Harolds trail then across the connector with a side trip on the new trail to the tv antenna. Then over to Zoar and down the west end trail then across to climb the back side of Berkshire east then around the trail on top then down the downhill trail then back to Zoar to climb back to the Warfield House. Sounds exhausting just writing it but it should be really fun.

Bring your climbing legs and complete bikes, missing parts in the drivetrain (derailleurs, chainrings, multiple cogs) is a really bad choice for Charlemont :-)

Thinking about making the trip out from central MA. What's the pace planned for on this one/will there be groups by speed? Mileage estimate?

    thanks!

Yeah, I just posted the Map Bruce made over on NEMBA, might as well put it here too. <Charlemont Whole Enchilada - Google Maps

There is a lot of climbing, and we're expecting quite a big group. We'll surely split up into a couple of groups.

About 1/2 the climbing is on farm or lightly maintained dirt roads, and we'll descend to the bridge on Rice Brook on Warfield's road, the rest is single track. The ST isn't too worn in, so even the descents will be work. Pace will be very reasonable, but you'll still be tired at the end of the ride, fortunately the bar at Warfield House has a pretty good beer selection

Anyone doing this ride this weekend? Visiting back home in Maine from the West Coast and need to do some riding this weekend on the way down to NJ for work. Saturday would be my day to ride. Also would need to rent a bike locally. Been hearing good stuff about Western Mass!
