    Any word on Otis? Nickerson?

Jonesing to ride now that the snow in MA sucks for everything. How's the snowpack looking on the Cape? We're still 1'+ in most areas on the North Shore.

We're losing snow quickly on The Cape but we still need a week plus of warm temps before its good to ride.

You guys gotta start cherishing the crust. frozen solid grippy no studs no trails go anywhere thru the forest, crust. With cold temps the next number of mornings, the crust should be great. Probably don't even need a fatbike, altho the fatbike ride is sooooo much more fun.

Same here. But it's going fast.
Were you talking about the north shore, or have you trekked south and east towards Nickerson and Otis?

North Shore is still pretty deep. 12"+ in most spots. Dirt and rocks are starting to peek through.

I'm hoping that todays warmer temps and tonight's rain will wash Otis clean. I would think Nickerson would at least be rideable by the weekend. Would love to hear some locals though. Don't want to be "that guy" riding on trails that aren't ready.

Have a friend who lives next to and rides nickerson. He was poking around yesterday and said the woods are still packed with snow.

He said mabe in a week or so if it stays warm.

Even fatties don't go through what's left out there now. To warm for the crust, too soft to stay on top of the line we've been riding all winter. Right now is fendered road bike season for me.

    Any word on Otis? Nickerson?

I don't actually live on the cape, but I have some water close enough:

Edit: that's typically the path through the dunes.

Been walking Otis lately with the saw and clippers. Almost 75% clear, snow where you would expect; hollows and north facing slopes. The stuff that is there is soft and deep at points. The soil is spongey and soft still, I'd give it a few warm days and it should be close to prime. Hopefully next weekend. For now its hiking and cleaning, which from what I've seen, isn't too bad.

Otis is now 99% clean and dry. Lots of groups riding down here this weekend. Nickerson,TOT, and Otis are all looking nice.

I've never seen so many cars parked at Otis as I did Saturday. There were even 4 from Quebec! Good thing about Otis, packed with cars, saw 3 people on the trails.
