    Any night rides near Boston?

Hey guys, I've finally ordered up some lighting equipment and looking to get some night rides in this fall. I live in Belmont, so the Fells is my go-to place to ride... but I don't think it's cool to ride there at night (is it??).

Can you suggest some places nearby that are worth checking out? thanks!

It's probably a hike for you but the Cape is awesome for night riding.

Just did my first of the season in Wompatuck tonight. It was awesome. There are probably a bunch of night rides in Blue Hills.
My name is Chris and I ride a Ripmo now.

NEMBA runs Friday night rides at Russell Mill (Chelmsford). 1/2 hr commute from Belmont.

Thanks for the ideas! Wompatuck and the Cape are a bit too far for an afterwork ride, but Chelmsford isn't too bad. Do they run the Friday night rides through the fall?

Anyone know if night riding is allowed at Blue Hills?

Check the link. The organizer seems to post the details on Thursday night. Given the prior descriptions in the thread, they don't sound like the "delicate" type that would be scared of leaves and lower temps.

pretty sure Fells closes at dusk but if you did ride through there you'd probably see people drinking beer (smashing bottles) and starting fires

Wow, Lynn Woods at night. Now that is extreme. Those granite slabs must look pretty cool under the light.

    Russell Mill ride

The RM ride continues till the snow flies. Then we shift to snow shoes. We start a 5 and regroup in the lot at 6 to pick up the 9PM shift. Watch the NEMBA board for the weekly ride posting.

but that what i would buy if i was on a market again. the light i have doesnt provide much flood light around, it is too projected.

You got the money get both of them! I'll do that eventually, exept I'll put 1400 on handlebar & projector on the helmet, cause it's lighter & you only need light where you head is facing, right? So I think projector is better off on a helmet IMHO

believe me , I like to keep my Tires grounded for the most part. but once we start doing the night rides where it is dark for the whole ride , it will usually be around 7pm
