Bent derailluer hanger/dropout on Mt Vision

Been having shifting problems lately, adjusting tension never seems to do the trick. I was inspecting things and noticed that the hanger appears to be bent. Anyone else have this issue? Can any other MV owners confirm that it is indeed bent and its not my imagination?

A quick look around the internetz yielded a new dropout/hanger for 53 bucks Am I better off throwing it in the vise and trying to correct it a bit. Worth a shot right?

Yes, it is bent. And you need one of these:

Park Tool Co. DAG-2 : Derailleur Hanger Alignment Gauge : Frame & Fork Tools

And you can get it here:

Park Tool Derailleur Hanger Alignment Gauge:Amazon:Sports & Outdoors

It is also $55, but you can repair tthat same hanger again and again.

DerailleurHanger sell spares for about $20 but I have bent a couple of mine back using heat from a MAPP gas torch and the vise. Mine were much worse than that. Check for fore/aft alignment as well. Mine were bent back more than sideways. Should be able to eye ball it ok.I did, and they work fine.
