2013 Marin Indian Fire Trail 29er or Giant XTC Composite 3 29er. Which to buy?

Trying to decide between these two. The Marin is an aluminum frame but has many upgrades (fox float fork, Formula RX brakes, XT Drivetrain...etc). The Giant is Carbon and has upgraded wheels (ZTR Arch EX) but not so much component wise (Rock Shox Recon, Elixir 1 brakes, X7 rear der, Sram Cranks).

This will be my first 29er so the ride is really important. Do not care about racing but love really technical riding, fast single track, and jumping off reasonable jumps.

    Both are the same money.

Any and all advice is welcome.

    Thank you.
It's not the falling that hurts, it is the sudden stop at the bottom!

Is the Giant a 2013 as well? Both new or used?
I would lean toward the marin because you dont see a million of them, it has much better components top to bottom, and it looks awesome.
I would lean toward the Giant because the Carbon frame is a little bit lighter and ITS CARBON BLING!

They both probably weigh around 26 lbs.

    The geometry is very similar.
