    Re: 2013 Bobcat Trail 29

I purchased a bobcat trail 17" 29er the other day. Should be here tomorrow. First MTB since I was a kid lol. Couldn't pass up the deal. The bike was $594 shipped. Best part was that I had a new credit card offer which was spend $500 in the first 90 days and get a $225 statement credit. Soooo, the bike ended up costing me about $370 in the end!!! Winner winner chicken dinner!!!! Only concern I have is that I'm 5'7 with a 30" inseam. The girl I spoke with said the 17" frame would be OK for me?! I'm hoping it works out that way. Can't wait to ride. I just sold my jet ski so now I'm stoked to start MTBing.

Congrats you guys. Those are great bikes for the money. the 17" frame might be a little tight stand over, but it should work.

So I picked my bike up today from my LBS and I gotta say, I honestly don't think its possible to be any happier with the bike. So far it seems like a solid bike. Rides extremely smooth and very comfortable. Even my step dad took it for a rip and loved it and he owns an $1100 trek!

    2013 Bobcat Trail 29

That bobcat trail has better stuff than almost any $1100 trek will. The raidon fork is a very good fork for the money and is MUCH better than most non-air forks.

Remember that the bobcat is a $1000+ bike that is on closeout.

Trying to de-badge the rims with the factory stickers. I hate stickers!!!! Only problem is they aren't coming off very easy, they keep tearing and leaving adhesive. Think some 3m adhesive remover will be OK to clean them up or maybe some goo-gone?!

Congrats on the new bike!! I picked one at the end of summer last year. Love it, couldn't be happier. Especially at the price I got it for.

How else can they identify their products? Stickers are cheap, colorful and easy to remove.

The bobcat is an awesome bike for the $$. I have no complaints with mine other than needing some new pedals and a new saddle. Just simple bolt ons...

My local Sun and Ski outlet store has two left in stock for 20% off the regular price ($999). It comes out to $800 plus tax. Is that a good deal? I went to look at it today and it's a nice looking bike. I like the color combo it comes in. I'm debating between the Marin and an Airborne Guardian 2.0. The only reason I would go with the Marin is because they have my size (Med) in stock and it comes with lifetime brake and gears adjustments which is not bad. I wasn't aware but they also had a sale this weekend (tax free) and it applied to bikes. If I can get them to match that I will buy the Marin. I really like the Airborne but hate the fact that I have to go about a month without a bike since they are out of the Guardian in my size. I also went to the LBS where I bought my Trek to see what they had but nothing really compared to the Marin. The closest thing they had was an X-Caliber 7 but it wasn't put together and they weren't willing to work on the price.

I bought my Palisades Trail from Sun and Ski. I had them do one adjustment and they said that their coverage does NOT include hydraulic brakes. Not sure if the Bobcat has hydraulics, but I'm assuming that it does.

Also, IMO, I really like my Marin, but my riding buddy just bought an airborne goblin...and it's no joke. Really awesome components and frame. The goblin is obviously more spendy than a seeker, but I feel like you'll have more pride of ownership on an airborne. Just my humble opinion, of course.

I appreciate your honest opinion especially since you have used their services. I'm looking at the Airborne Guardian 2.0 and I'm really on the fence. I want to order the Airborne but like I said earlier it's hard for me (OCD) to sit around and wait until september for the bike to ship and arrive. If they would've given me a better price today on any of the bikes I looked at I would've taken one of them home with me.

Yep, I get that more than any of the specs vs retailer, etc.

Buy the bobcat and go ride! It won't be your last bike...it's just your next one.

The Marin is a much better bike. I have both. Wider bars, forks, tires, shifters, seat are better on the Marin. 2013 Bobcat Trail 29-imag0332.jpg

Well ladies and gentlemen, after a week of debating on which bike to get I pulled the plug and bought a 2014 Bobcat Trail 29. Like I said before I was torn between the Airborne Guardian 2.0 or the Bobcat Trail. The advantage went to the Marin because I was able to see it and try it out plus I'm able to take it to the shop where I bought it if anything goes wrong. I also get lifetime adjustments which was one of the reasons that I went with the Marin. I paid a little more than what I wanted to but I think I made a good choice. I'm taking it out for a ride tomorrow morning and will post how it rides. Can't wait to get to out and hit the trails.

It's not straight. I think it's angle of the camera that looks like it's straight. The below info is per the Marin website.

Yeh but on mine ive got a podium chill 21oz. Don't think the 25oz would fit. And the saddle tube mount doesn't seem to hold anything bigger than a 21oz if your lucky. Trying to use both water bottle holders looks to be a super tight squeeze.
