trick or hack for those velcro batter packs

for those lights with a velcro battery pack, how are you all mounting those to your bikes? i am mounting mine to the top tube but can't quite dial it in how to make it work well. lots of sliding around.

    Any tips or hacks?

Thin, dense foam pad between battery pack and the frame...you might be able to find some foam with adhesive already applied to one side; if not, double-sided tape should adequately attach the foam to the battery.

Looking at your MTBR profile it looks like you have hardtails so mounting the battery like this prevents it from sliding down the toptube. Depending on your battery this may require an extension cable to reach.

I just hang it from the handlebar. Next to the stem is a low point; the [basically trivial] weight is centered, and I don't have to worry about the length of the cord or tugging it when I turn or crash.

You could try a Voile ski strap instead of the Velcro. Snug down pretty tight and have just enough stretch to them.

I do also hang the battery from beneath the stem or a small “gas tank” style bag on occasion.
