New question here. pro/cons of building or buying lights?

The only factory LED lamp that I found that will do 200 or more lumins is $250. So I want to know how to build what I need. Unless some one knows of a cheaper LED lamp, that is bright enough.

    Has any one done this?

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
How is it possable to build a bike light from one of these flash lights?

I need at least 3 hours and the lithium-ion bateries they run on don't have enough power and are just oo expensive.

I have a 6volt LAG battery that reads 6.28 volts, I don't know what the mAh's are....but it looks like it would run the lights much longer. I can rigg it externaly.

the Arora flash light says it needs 7.2 volts so will it run on 6v?
"Power drawn from the batteries stays constantly about 10 watts, until the voltage drops below 5 Volts."

or should I just find another flash light that will run on the 6v?

one person had trouble at 10v:
"DX advertises the input voltage range from 7.2 to 17 volts, but i was afraid to go over 10 Volts on my adjustable power supply, because the current suddenly increased instead of going down further."

I presume this one needs a regulator, and I have no Idea what to do

I think you should have a look at the "Lights DIY Forum" link at top of page.

    Loads of advice over there.
