Niterider battery care / charging questions

I have a Niterider Cyclops Pro System. I have two different headlamps that I use with it - a 10w halogen and a 15w halogen. My battery pack is the rechargeable NiCad "bag" style - I'm uncertain of the specs.
My question is this: Should I discharge the battery fully and then do a full 14 hour charge?
I don't want to damage the battery by overcharging or by draining.
    What is recommended?

NiCad batteries benefit from full discharge and recharge unlike Lithium ion because NiCad can have negative memory.

Full discharge down to 1.0-1.1V/cell, not below. Going below that damages the cells. There are chargers/dischargers that will automatically cycle NiCd batteries down to that voltage.
    Do the math.
