Why is it annoying? Just drop it through a vent and run it back between the helmet cage and the foam.

You can DIY a reversal, someone posted a method with photos on one of the other MS threads.

Not annoying at all. I have a ziptie looped (loosely) through a rear vent. I run the battery cable up from the pack through the loop once( make a loop) then connect it to the lead from the light. The lead from the light just curves back to the ziptie and is out of the way.
