    Magicshine charger fritzed out...

    In the first two weeks.
Two Q's, Geoman, can I just ship it back for replacement?

Two, can the MS batteries be charged @ 9v, or will that fry the battery?

no, you can only charge li-ion batteries using chargers designed specifically for that purpose. In the case of the magicshine battery, the charger must be voltage regulated fairly precisely to 8.4V and also current limited. You can use other brands of chargers that are designed for a pack with similar specifications.

If you tried to charge them with 9 volts, best case the protection circuit in the pack should shutdown the pack. Worse case would be if the protection circuit malfunctioned, that would result in the pack bursting with lots of flames shooting out. There are lots of videos on youtube if you want to see what that looks like.

This is probably more appropriate for a direct contact to him via email/phone than on a message board. No personal attack intended here, but a business issue like this is best kept personal because it puts the company in an awkward position.
