MagicShine is acting weird - battery issue?

So, when it works I am very happy with the magicshine, but there here is a problem that caused me to ride home in a complete darkness one night:

    - I charge the battery for 4h (charger shows green after about 2h)
    - plug the headlight in and the light comes automatically up
    - turn the light off (button hold or cycle through modes)
    - the button is lid green
    - [PROBLEM] when trying to turn it back on - nothing happens: I try holding the button down, short press ... even unplug and plug back results in complete darkness (aside of the green status light on back)

what am I doing wrong? the battery has gone through ~10 charging cycles (never left it plugged in for more than 6 hours) Not sure how I can diagnose it further?

This is the setup I am using:

Sounds like a dead light head.

I had the same problem a couple days ago. I filled out the warrantee form on the Geomangear site this morning and had a reply within two hours. They're sending me a new light head.

When you try to turn it back on, does the green light stay on. If it does, then there is a problem with the driver in the light head. If the green light goes off, then it could be a problem with the protection PCB in the battery. I'm guessing the green light stays on and hence a problem with the light head.

In any case, you need to contact geoman for a replacement.

Your LED does light up every time? or not at all since the first problem?

May be a switch problem. I doubt it would be a battery issue if you get a green button

And Kermit, whether you have a $90 light or a $500 light, you should always have a back up light. Even if it's just a cheap flashlight.

    Anyway, good luck!

HamfisT - did you email them directly or through the website? I have a dead lighthead as well and I'm not sure the "contact us" form went through as I never saw an email acknowledgement.
