Lupine battery with ds-500 tail light?

Is it alright to use a 7.2v lupine battery with a ds-500? Is there an adapter that will make this work? And please do not try to derail my thread by asking me silly questions about why I want to do this.

looks like you will be alright (from the DesignShine website) -

runtimes will depend on the capacity of the Lupine pack

Not sure why you think we'd derail the thread. That's a pretty sweet taillight. And you need a pack to run it. If you have spare packs it makes sense to use what you have.

No, I was worried the voltage isn't high enough. I was looking for a lupine quality level battery to power it. Yhe more I read about their quality level yhe more I crave their stuff. I need an adapter that works, haven't seen one, and to know if the voltage is right.

I have mentioned to Dan at Gretna Bikes that an adapter would be sweet. Lupine's Charger One is the best bike light charger I have seen next to a hobby charger. I told them there would probably more demand intergrading Lupine products with others if this adapter was available.

That been said, maybe they are keeping things proprietary to maintain quality control and reputation.

It looks like the DS uses the standard type battery pack and any MS/Gemini/GloWorm battery will work.

Truely their basic battery packs are not really any better than any other quality packs. Protection circuits and cells are more or less the same.

So no reason you need to use Lupine exclusively, glowworm, Xeccon, etc battery packs will serve you just as well. Just avoid cheap crap, no name stuff.
