Lights, lights, lights . . . . where to begin?

    Hello all,

I am in the market for a light system for my bike(s). Here is my intended purpose - I need the lights to make myself more visible while riding. That's it . . . . plain and simple. I do not plan on riding trails at night nor do I plan on road riding at night, really. I just want drivers to be able to see me better so that the chances of being hit by said drivers are reduced as much as possible. I don't want to spend over $80 for the headlight/taillight combo. Any suggestions?

I've been perusing the web and have become overwhelmed by prices (YIKES!!!) ranging from $50 to $700 for combos. I searched the "Reviews" portion of this site and found quite a mized bag. I just need something that will help my visibility and be affordable.

    Thanks!

    Rob

Most of the lights reviewed here are for bombing down trails at 30mph.
You want some low powered blinkies. I like the cateye ones for my commuter. Check out the range at your LBS, you should find a nice set for under 50US$

Picked up a Blackburn Flea "system" at my LBS. Should serve my needs.
