High pitched hum/buzz from Niterider pro series batteries

Kindna mentioned my problem on this thread:
http://forums.mtbr.com/lights-night-...ns-715715.html (from post #35 and down)
but I think this problem should require a new thread.

As soon as the battery is connected to the light head, I could hear a very faint buzzing noise coming from the battery near where the niterider logo is located.

I have been getting contradicting replies where someone had mentioned the noise may came from the switching modulation voltage while some say that this is not normal. I do have some experience with PWM modules and yes, sometimes they could be noisy but this is the first time I have heard them make any noise for lighting applications. Both my Magicshine and Exposure Diablo lights are silent.

To clarify the confusion; would those with Niterider batteries, please post here and state whether you batters are making any noise (you may have to press your ears against the battery to hear it).

And with regards to my problem with the fuel gauge, after a few charge and discharge cycles, it seems to getting more accurate now although it is still jumping around quite a bit after going past 50% burn time but at least it is not totally out of whack like before.

    Reply from Niterider:

Thanks so much for your inquiry. The high-pitched noise youíre hearing in the battery is normal. There are electronics inside the battery that govern some of the systemís operations and they are responsible for this noise. Our older MiNewt light systems were similar and their batteries made that noise as well.

    I hope this helps!

I just ordered a pro 1500 race. I will let you know when it gets here. That does seem weird that it makes noise even when turned off.

Mine makes the same sound when I first plug the light into the battery. After it was plugged in for awhile the sound went away. It doesn't bother me, probably because you forewarned me.

The light is very bright on the trail. I use a 600 minewt cordless on my helmet and added the 1500 on my bars and I am pretty happy with my setup. I am now no longer scared of the dark. Well, less scared. Well, actually I'm probably just as afraid of the dark I just can now create daylight in front of me with these two lights.
