Do halogen NiMH's dim with 6 year old battery?

My L&M solo is 6 years old, the 6 cell NiMH still goes an hour, but when freshly charged seems less powerfull than 6 years ago...or it could be my imagination. Not sure if I should try buying a new battery or upgrade. It's supposed to be 315 lumen, which would be expensive to match.

All batteries lose capacity as they age. Depending on how often you ride your capacity is probably around 60% or original now, so you lost 4/10

I know capacity is lost, but what about output? As in amps creating lumens creating brightness?

    Halogen Bulbs dim with age.

Also, internal resistance of NiMH batteries increase with age, which drops the effective voltage under load, resulting in a slightly dimmer beam
