The fenix is quite popular, check out reviews on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG-OqxHgy1E

The display on it seems like a good addition + the remote would be useful

I just got a Cateye 1200 and I'm happy with it based on the first few uses. Other riders have been impressed with the output, particularly the width of the beam.

Keep in mind that the Fenix, while a great light, is only 1600 lumen while in burst mode. Burst mode is active only when holding down the button on the included remote and stops as soon as you let go. Not really usable except perhaps to signal someone.

Otherwise the light can run continually at a maximum of 800 lumen.

    the cateye 1200 lumen
but i saw in some amazon reviews that it's the same as other 700 lumen light , so fenix still better , right ?

The Cateye really is 1200 lumens. It was measured:

    He Mad Darsh,

Between those two, I would definitely go for the Cateye Volt 1200.

I'm in the market for a light also and am considering going for the Volt 1600.

And these Lumens are real, measured, not hype.

    Hope this helps.

The fenix is NOT 1600 lumens. That mode is a hidden thing that lasts 20seconds. Its actual high mode is only 800 lumens (actual not hype).

The light I just got in for review I really like, ituo wiz20. Blows the fenix away on so many levels. Including not having that display which I dont like on the trails. Too much going on in my peripheral vision cause of it. Great commuter light but lacking badly for trail use. Ituo wiz20 on the other hand...new favorite self contained light

    Hi tigris99,

What I meant is I saw a Cateye Volt 1600 for the handlebar and a Volt 800 for the helmet and, since we're talkin' about lights, wanted the opinion of the people here.

    Thanks.

due to some traffic problems in my country , i guess i needed this kind of hand flash option in Fenix
800 lumen is very enough also , i guess no one -on road biker- will need more
    isn't it ?

    Hi Mad Darsh,

Maybe for a road bike 800 is enough. I would very much like to know what the people here are using on the trails? If anyone is using Cateye? And what do people recommend.

It's great to see my videos shared. I should really change my forum name to match.

800 is perfect for unlit the roads. And 800 is the minimum output i would have for an Mtb bar light. More is better.

is the 1600 flashing mode a good methods to warn the "Zombie walking" people ?
yesterday i was walking with my bike using Airzound and my friend using Hornit
believe or not the people almost dead men walking
not all of them was care about us

so i was thinking about more eye catchy way to deal with them
what do you thing about the turbo flashing mode using the remote at fenix 1600 ?

The turbo isn't a flash mode, it just turns on turbo mode on while ur pushing the button. So you hold it down, you get turbo for 20 seconds.

And no its going to be useless for ppl walking if nothing else is working.

Turbo mode is a bad joke by fenix imo.

Just a way for them to name the light 1600 and claim 1600 lumens in an 800 lumen light. If it were a hand-held light, it would have some use for blinding people.

I wish i had seen that. I just got a volt 1600 and it is nice. The 1600 setting is a little overkil but not really. I never rode single track at night but it is now my new favorite thing on the high setting. The medium is ok but high is luxury. My only gripe is i wish there was a remote to toggle between high and low because switching pretty much requires slowing/stopping. That ituo with the custimization looks like it would help this by reducing the levels to scroll through

Their available in the US now. As in actually stocked in the States finally. I just got the updated version sample in last week with the better rear door and no visible pwm. Even better than the original. There's a thread about the light too.

    Here's the website:
