    Battery disposal

Sorry if this is a repeat thread. I assume you lighting gurus have use to dispose of batteries every now and then. I'd like to do so with some old tired cells and also the spent random A batteries around. What's the environmentally friendly and responsible way to do it?

Our local recycling center takes old Li-Ion and Nimh batteries no charge. Maybe the same in your area?

some hardware stores will take them, too

here's a link from home depot.

"Your neighborhood The Home Depot Store has partnered with Call2Recycle, a non-profit battery recycling program. You can recycle rechargeable batteries free by placing them in Call2Recycle bins at the store."

i think ace hardware stores in some places will as well.
