Switching a Niterider HID to LED - do-able?

I have a couple of older NiteRider HID headlamps with nonworking bulbs and curious if it's possible to replace them with LED's. Guessing it would take reconfiguration of the ballasts, and likely different batteries. Any advice is appreciated.

Not really possible/practical... For LED lights proper cooling is critical to their longevity and the housings used for HID lights were never designed with that in mind so you'd end up cooking the LED(s) in short order.
