    Solar$hitStorm 5000

I have read a lot of the threads and I know that I can mod the driver to get more power to the 2 LEDs. But I am wondering if I can just use a battery with higher voltage to get more voltage to the LEDs? I have added thermal paste and some copper backing to dissipate the heat in anticipation of the mods.

    Your help is appreciated.

No, most drivers will have a maximum current drive to the LEDs regardless of the battery voltage. Higher voltage would only run the risk of destroying the driver. The proper way is to mod the driver typically by changing the current sense resistor(s).

OK. I was afraid of that. My soldering on small parts is suspect. But it looks like I can add a R500 resistor to either r2 or r4 to bump the output to the LEDs in parallel to 2 amps each. I'm showing 3.05 volts to each LED now. Of course I could just get 2 real XM-L2's and wire them in series with a 2,100 ma driver from LED Supply and a good battery with protection. Hmmm. Should get my output up to 1,500 or so lumens from 900 at best.
