    Protection question

I'm rebuilding a dinotte 4-cell w/protection circuit board. I ordered 4 protected 18650s. Should I solder the board to the protected cells or eliminate it?

I wasn't sure how I know if the protection board was "tripped" previously. If it was, is it forever tripped or can I reuse it?

Replacing a welded pack cells isn't as simple as soldering. And the protection circuit is perfectly fine. But you ordered protected cells so no reason to reuse the board, you'll just create more resistance. The protection circuits are simply reset by charging the pack.
