New to the DIY Lights forum, anyone selling lights?

    Hello all,

Just wanted to see if there were any DIY'ers selling their lights? I need a new light and don't want to pay the retail prices from the major brands

    thanks in advance

There can be a lot of DIY in buying a "DIY" light.

You can just buy the light head and then rig up a custom battery system for it. Most DIYers are happy to tell you what batteries will and won't work with their lights, unlike the large manufacturers who seem to charge a pretty large markup on their batteries (IMHO). It helps to know how to solder is pursuing this path, and maybe have a basic understanding of electricity.

There are some "DIY" lights in the classifieds right now. I've got one listed (or go see http://www.hahntronix.com for more options), Troutie and Scar also have theirs listed. El34 has a mount for the magicshine listed, but if you poke around his web pages, you'll at least find kits and I think some complete lights.
