My Find .... Pod for Storing Batteries using Water Bottle Cage

I am a newbie to MTBR.com and I do not recollect this being mentioned anywhere.... just thought I pass this around...

I was shopping for Christmas at REI and came across this unique water-proof pod which fits into a standard water-bottle cage:

    http://www.rei.com/product/776187

It has a wide flip cover at the top which would allow DIY batteries to be easily inserted into the carrier. I plan to use this pod to hold DIY replacement batteries to power up my Niterider Flight HID system. I will be drilling a small hole for the wires to be routed out of the bottle. The hole will then be sealed up with some silicone.

I hope this will be useful for you DIY'ers!

    Cheers,
    Andrew

Thanks for posting acg. Looks a good idea, although seems a bit expensive compared with a standard water bottle, which is also waterproof. You can get water bottles that have a big top and would be equally good for storing tools like the rei pod.

I tried the regular water bottle with the wide mouth. Unfortunately, my battery pack replacement pack is mounted as three 18650 batteries side-by-side which makes it difficult to get through the mouth of a water bottle. This REI pod was a great solution for me

Think I'll get one of those if only to get my spare tube and tools into a more accessible place than my camelbak. Thanks
