    Mr16 led question

I'm still running a pond scum and noticed an mr16 led at lowe's. Can I use this bulb in my light. If so will I need a 12v battery instead of the 14.4 I run now?

My first LED light was a Phillips 12 volt 10 degree bulb in a modded landscaping housing. They are for nominal 12 volt AC or DC sytems and I think mine specified up to 16 volt DC but I am not sure. Anyway it ran fine on a 12 volt NiHMH which is 14.2 volts fresh off the charger. Your 14.4 Lipo? pack will be 16.8 off the charger. That has to be close to the peak voltage for 12 volt AC. You'd think there'd be a little wigle room for AC spikes and bad transformers. It sounds close but doable, and maybe someone reading this has been successful.
