    Mr-11 Led ?

    I searched before posting this:

What is the best/brightest LED version of a Halogen MR-11?

    Thanks.

35mm XP-G quad is ~1400 lumens at 1A and XM-L available soon is even brighter.

The downside to the quad is the GT4 optic that is usually used with it does not make a very good beam. Another user found that a CUTE-4 for the XR-E led worked better.

The MR-11 sized triple CUTE-SS for XP leds has also proven to be an excellent performer.

I did some additional testing comparing the Cute-4-SS on a quad XPG board to the triple Cute-3-XP-SS, and found there is very little advantage to the quad over the triple since I posted that thread. So the quad is burning up more power but not really putting additional light on the ground. That's presumably because the Cute-4-SS isn't very efficient when paired with an XPG since it was designed for the XR-E LED. It works, but in my opinion isn't worth using over a triple setup.
