Looking to add some 5050 SMD LEDs to bike.

Has anyone ever added (the above) to their bike or something like it? I ride a motorcycle and am also in LE and I want to stick out at night. I already bought a handle bar mount that fits various 18650 flashlights I own and I also bought a decently bright rear tailight that's powered by 2x AAA.

But what about side visibility? I'd like to buy a SMD 5050 LED light strip and wire them to a battery pack. Put several strip around the frame going long ways, not wrapping them around the frame literally.

The light strip has a 3M backing but I bet I could get a magnet roll cut it to size and magnetically stick them on. Question is are their any 18650 battery packs that will power 30 to 40 SMD 5050 LEDs? And have some sort of UI where it knows the proper voltage etc?

    double thumbin' it!

Yes. I bent some aluminum flat bar to go around my pannier and stuck the LED strip to that. Have done a lot of thinking about using 18650's to drive them, but the small 12V utility battery I use drives them fine and doesn't require a driver.

The strips are designed for use without a driver and have resistors for each group of LED's. Don't need to current control if you stay below 14V
I will suffer no butt-hurt fools!

    Yup...

My first trial run (more of a proof of concept):

Second attempt (control module shorted a circuited while I was working with it. It should be flashing red and yellow like the first video):

The control module is this, but you could use a different set up:
