    New question here. Ledil Optics

Anyone using these? Curious how people are mounting the lens holder.

I've built two prototype lights using the square lenses on MCEs. I had to cut up the base a lot to get it to fit around the soldered wires on both of them. One I had to use silicone to hold everything in place. The other is barely staying on less than half of the tape remaining after the hack job to get to sit right.

    Any tips would be appreciated

    From Ledil:

"CRS lenses are not designed for Star PCBs they were designed for custom PCB design,

But our LC1 lens series with white holders fits well to star PCBs too."

You can cut the holders away, and then hopefully have some method to holding them in place.

That makes sense why they don't fit well. Not opposed to cutting them down I'd just perfer a cleaner install.

    thanks

Neil, this is what I did for my MCE light

There's not much left to the bottom but at least it's a way to center the lens

I installed a 20 mm Ledil optic on a MCE this week. Cutting a lot of plastic (a lot of wires because 2s-2p) from the side of the holder did the trick. It still clicks to the LED and so it is alligned properly.
